We have a range of classes to suit all levels of fitness and experience!
The hub of BALC Group Fitness is Studio 1, with the latest SMART TECH equipment designed to maximise your workout.
Studio 2 is the ultimate cycle studio with 28 of the latest Technogym bikes to give you the best indoor cycling experience in town.
Studio 3 will help you achieve a sense of calm with our variety of low impact wellbeing classes including Yoga, Pilates and Barre.
Aquatic classes are held in our warm water, 25m and 50m pools. Aqua Fitness is perfect for anyone looking for exercise without impact using the buoyancy of water to challenge you. Using specialised aqua equipment, aquatic classes are ideal for anyone requiring rehabilitation, suffering injuries and limitation or adding variety to a fitness regime.
ACTIVE AGEING CYCLE
A low impact, freestyle indoor cycle class designed for older adults or anyone wanting to feel more comfortable on a spin bike. With one-on-one assistance to ensure proper set-up and use from an instructor, this class offers a safe and comfortable environment for participants to ride towards their goals at their own pace. ACTIVE AGEING GYMNASTICS
A low impact, medium intensity class designed to focus on building balance, coordination, and whole-body strength. Our sprung gymnastics floor lowers the impact on the body whilst using a variety of small gymnastics apparatus to develop functional strength and balance to assist with everyday activities. Duration: 45 min.
AQUA FIT
Increase your cardio fitness and strength with moderate intensity. Choreographed routines and a variety of circuits with equipment, line and wall work. A fun session for those seeking a challenge or to improve their fitness. Duration: 45 mins.
BARRE
Barre is a fun workout designed to tone postural muscles, build core strength, and flexibility. This class combines ballet inspired movements with elements of pilates, dance and strength training. Duration: 45 mins.
BODYPUMP
Les Mills BODYPUMP™ is a total body strength workout that will shape and tone all major muscle groups, increase core strength, improve bone health and leave you feeling strong and fit. Featuring a high rep, lower weight training format called the THE REP EFFECT™, you’ll utilise time under tension and fatigue to generate muscular adaptation and burn calories. CHAIR YOGA
A gentle, accessibility-friendly form of yoga that’s performed while seated or using a chair for balance. Suited to people of all ability levels including seniors, those with limited mobility and people recovering from injury. Focusing on the same core principles as traditional yoga, Chair Yoga can help improve your flexibility, mobility, strength and mental well-being. Duration: 45 mins. Coordination: Low
DEEP WATER RUN
A vigorous, high intensity workout focusing on deep water running. Great for those wanting a fitness challenge, added variety to their fitness regime or requiring rehabilitation. Duration: 45 mins.
FIT 45
If you love variety and a challenge, this is the class for you. This Freestyle, Functional Interval Training class aims to improve both your cardio and muscular strength. Duration: 45 mins.
FITBALL PILATES
Focusing on core strength and stability, this class incorporates a fitness ball into a Pilates workout to activate deep core muscles and improve stability. Duration: 45 mins.
FITBOX 45
This freestyle boxing class will keep you guessing and will give you a full body workout using various equipment that incorporates punching techniques, skipping, running and abdominal work. Duration: 45 mins.
GENTLY ACTIVE
Gentle exercises for our ageing community and those with limited mobility. Let our fun, friendly instructor lead you through movements focused on mobility, flexibility, balance and strength that will help keep you active and improve your quality of life. HATHA YOGA
Perfect for beginners, Hatha Yoga is slower and more gentle than other styles, using physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation to help reduce stress and promote improved flexibility, mobility and balance. Hatha features a combination of Asanas (postures that isolate the mind), Pranayama (breathing techniques), Shatkriyas (cleansing techniques), visualisation and Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep) to leave you feeling rejuvinated. PILATES BASICS
Teaching you the key fundamental principles of Pilates to give you a better understanding of this unique practice. This class will show you how to move mindfully with a deliberate focus on body awareness, control and concentration, to help you develop and deepen your practice. Duration: 45 mins.
RPM
Les Mills RPM™ is a group indoor cycling workout where you control the intensity of your ride to the rhythm of fun, powerful music. Boost your cardio fitness and take on the terrain with a motivating instructor who leads the pack through hills, flats, mountain peaks, time trials, and interval training. Duration: 45 mins. SPRINT
Les Mills SPRINT™ is a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout on indoor spin bikes that combines bursts of intensity with periods of rest to push your physical and mental limits. Duration: 30 mins. Coordination: Low
STEP
Using a height-adjustable step and simple movements on, over and around the step you get huge motivation from sing-a-long music and approachable instructors. Duration: 45 mins.
YOGA
Uses the practice of yoga postures to develop strength, flexibility and correct postural alignment. Encourages relaxation for the mind and body. Duration: 55 mins.
YOGA BASICS
Yoga Basics is tailored specifically for those new to yoga or those who are interested in improving their technique. This class incorporates simple flowing sequences to warm up the body, as well as slower paced movements focusing on alignment, strength, balance, and flexibility. Duration: 55 minutes.
TEEN GYMNASTICS
A great casual alternative for teens wanting to begin or continue their gymnastics journey without the ongoing commitment of a structured term-based program. A qualified coach provides a safe, supportive and fun program for all participants regardless of experience and skill level. Suitable for ages 12 – 17 years. Duration: 60 mins.
WARM WATER BASICS
A low impact, low intensity entry-level aqua class in our multi-purpose pool designed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of water movement. Featuring no music and an instructor in the pool with you, this class offers a gentle yet effective way to engage in confidence-building water exercises while enhancing balance, mobility and overall well-being. WARM WATER WORKOUT
