We’re calling for individuals and teams to join us for an 8-hour Swimathon on Saturday 19 October 2019 at Ballarat Aquatic & Lifestyle Centre between 9am-5pm.
Organised and coordinator by the young students of the BALC Junior Lifeguard Club, Dolly’s Dream Swimathon hopes to start the conversation about bullying and cyberbullying in young people within our community.
Registration fee – $12pp
So get your team together and get ready for a fantastic day supporting a great cause! The more team members you have the less time you need to spend in the water! For more details, check out our FAQ Section below.
If you can’t get a team together but would like to still participate, fill out the form and we’ll place you in a team. We’ll also have a ‘novelty lane’ running throughout the Swimathon that anyone can take part in for a gold coin donation.
All proceeds raised on the day will go towards the important work of Dolly’s Dream. For more information about Dolly’s Dream, please visit dollysdream.org.au.

FAQ’s
How many people do I need in my team?
The more team members you have, the less time you need to spend in the pool doing laps! We recommend trying to recruit at least 10 members per team to give you the best chance of completing the 8-hour challenge.
How much does it cost to enter?
$12 per person.
How long does the Swimathon go for?
The Swimathon will run from 9am – 5pm. At least one team member will need to be in the water at all times.
What pool is the Swimathon being held in?
We will be running the Swimathon in the 25m pool at BALC.
How many laps will I need to swim?
Hard to say! However, it’s important to remember that it’s not a race! Laps will be counted and a prize given to the team that completes the most number of overall laps, however the day is more about raising much needed funds for Dolly’s Dream.
Do I need to swim each lap?
Don’t worry, we aren’t looking for correct stroke technique for each lap! We only ask that you have a team member in OR on the water at all times. You will have access to aqua belts, pool noodles, life jackets and inflatables throughout the event.
8 hours is a really long time! Will there be food and drinks available?
Yes, the BALC Lifestyle Cafe will be open to keep you fueled up all day! Members of the Junior Lifeguard Club will also be running a BBQ in the courtyard during the day (proceeds from the BBQ will go towards the Junior Lifeguard Club and not Dolly’s Dream).
I would love to take part but can’t get a team together. Can I still participate?
Absolutely! Get in contact with us and we’ll do our best to place you in a team. We’ll also have a ‘novelty lane’ running throughout the Swimathon that anyone can take part in for a gold coin donation.
Water is not my thing. How else can I help raise money for Dolly’s Dream?
You don’t need to get in the water to help us raise money on the day! You can donate online at any time at dollysdream.org.au/donate
Where will my money go?
All money raised will go towards Dolly’s Dream. You can read about the great work they’re doing here: dollysdream.org.au/about
